Airfix 1:24 FW 190 A-5: Details Without Decals

Hi Guys time for an update!

I have decided to try something different for this build… to add the detail without using decals!

In order to accomplish this I have gone to Mal Mayfield from Miracle Masks and order a set of paint masks for the Airfix 1:24 FW 190 A-5. These are made to order so some waiting is involved (especially when we are on the opposite sides of the planet)

Mal has just emailed me to inform me he has finished the masks and they’re on their way to me as we speak. (For a damn good price I might add! – Thanks Mal!)

So when they arrive I’ll give a first look at them and then take you through the application process. I’m looking forward to using them and seeing the result on the finished model. I’ll then be able to use the dry transfers for the stencilling and we should have a factory fresh Anton for the shelf ….. assuming I can find room? LOL anyone got a home for a very LARGE Fw190A-5?

If you are curious about this method of applying detail to your own kits, I have included Mal’s contact details below
